Thom Browne A/W 11

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIRimfe9UV0

When looking at Thom Browne's collection that was shown at Paris Fashion Week, I was not expecting what I saw. Reminding me of a McQueen show, the catwalk included an 18th Century long dining table, complete with guests, food and animals.
And it looks like this year, the tables are turning.

Headwear was rife - anything from chunky headbands and knitted beanies to feathered top hats and trilbies. And prints reminding me of Vivienne Westwood Anglomania - clashing red and blue tartan, with black and white checks. A sense of womenswear was also visible. Forget women wearing tuxedos and rocking menswear. This coming A/W is all about men wearing capes, dungarees, and mohair ankle length skirts - if Thom Browne has anything to do with the fashions.

And I seem to feel that maybe Mr Browne has been influenced by Johnny Depp? I'm talking the Mad Hatter ankle-grazing trousers and floor length tail coats (we're looking at the 1800's here). Then walking canes and small, circle framed glasses aka Willy Wonka style-ee. And swash-buckling waist belts and gauntlet leather gloves to channel Captain Jack Sparrow. Ahoy.

I like the collection, it has imagination and creativity. What do you think?
